Here Emperor Nicholas II arranged a diplomatic reception for Prince Siam, Bernard Shaw met with Maxim Gorky, young and not yet known Dmitry Shostakovich performed his sonata to Sergei Prokofiev, Elton John gave an improvised concert in the restaurant "Europe", and in the Lobby bar sang Whitney Houston.

The banquet and conference rooms of the hotel host the most significant social and cultural events for up to 250 participants. Ballroom "Roof", in which Emperor Nicholas II also held diplomatic receptions, is ideal for weddings, banquets and conferences.

Also in the hotel there is a ballroom "Europe". This is the best choice for large banquets, weddings and dinners with dances, balconies are suitable for a small elegant reception.

"Tchaikovsky Evenings"

In 1877, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky stayed at the Grand Hotel Europe with his young wife. In memory of the famous composer every Friday at the restaurant "Europe" the chamber orchestra plays the works of the great master, and the ballet couple performs the adagio from the "Swan Lake".

Under the mosaic vaults of Leontius Benois's work, leisurely meals are served with European and Pan-Asian dishes, caviar and fine wines. The jazz orchestra invariably creates a festive atmosphere in the restaurant "Europe".
